Juliette Lonij

Juliette Lonij was Research Software Engineer for the KB Lab from 2014 to 2018. She has a broad academic background, ranging from the traditional humanities on the one hand to formal and computational approaches on the other. Her current research interests include information extraction, semantic enrichment and natural language understanding.

I studied Philosophy and Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam, receiving a Master’s degree in Logic in 2005 (cum laude). In 2015, I was awarded a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Science by the University of Antwerp (summa cum laude). Before joining the National Library in 2014, I worked as a software developer at a number of internet agencies and as a freelance technical consultant for various clients in the cultural sector, including museums, an art gallery and an academic library. In my role at the KB Lab I focused on researching and developing tools and techniques for enriching the KB digital collections.
